Through no fault of anyone, we did not dock until 3/4 hours after our supposed arrival time due to gale force winds and original approach was aborted at last minute. “It is a very long drive on dirt roads, but the wildlife was amazing, we saw llamas, a flock of rheas, penguins, mares, an armadillo, sea lions, elephant seals and orcas. We were blown away by the amount of wildlife, and in late January the wild flowers were all in bloom. Our guide Nicholas, was super enthusiastic and as excited as we were to see the wildlife, he was both knowledgeable and helpful. Would recommend, although I think we were very lucky to see as much as we did. Plenty of rest rooms and a good cafe for lunch.”

We weren’t able to get to the beach where the majority of penguins were. Not the driver or the guide’s fault as we had to get back to the ship. The minibus was cramped, not much legroom. At least we managed to see penguins in the wild. The toilet facilities at the colony were disgusting. They had no mains water for 72 hours, so no hand washing or flushing toilets.”
